Racial divide has far-reaching impacts on the quality of life of Black people and communities.
The Bridges Program is designed to promote cross-race relationships and social cohesion and break the perpetuation of stereotypes by educating participants about racism and racial identity, thereby encouraging understanding and connectedness within communities.
Educating participants of different racial backgrounds about the history and the effects of racism, equality, and social justice will help them understand the past and how the past affects the present.
They are also better able to understand the foundation of the society and will have the ability to interpret and understand their worldview. This program will bring different races together in a unified and safe environment where they are able to understand each other and heal together.
Ultimately, we aspire to foster a society in which everyone is treated with fairness, dignity, and kindness regardless of their race or cultural background.
The topics, conversations and activities explored in these sessions will help participants understand their own experiences with racism. Participants will engage in meaningful discussions that will allow them to learn, think, reflect, assimilate, and make connections.
