CENTRE FOR

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING SERVICES

This Centre delivers varieties of programs and services to keep youths safe while training them to become valuable contributing members of their community and society at large.

Social Media and Internet Education Program

Internet safety education is vital and very crucial for youth in today’s society as more and more youth and children are being exposed and becoming victims of negative consequences.

This program aims to educate youths on the pros and cons of social media and the internet by creating awareness about their risks, their impacts on the well-being of youngsters, providing resources, guidance and support on protecting oneself while online and meaningful ways one can use the internet and social media as purposeful tools for career, social and academic success.

Protecting The Future of Tomorrow’s Leaders Program

Most predators are good at “Catching them young,” and with this sadist mentality, they use different strategies to exploit young souls by all means.

Children under 18, and sometimes, even over 19, depending on their previous exposure, may not have a clue about risks or dangers associated with exploitation, or think much of what they are doing as having any detrimental consequences on their person.

Zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse

End Exploitation Program

Many children get exposed to being supplied with illicit substances to take in exchange for the exploitation of their body. Not only that, but they are also exposed to selling the substances in exchange with the enticement of making money and becoming independent. The question is, what does a preteen or teenager care about “independence” when what should be consuming their mind is how to pass their classes and go to college or university?

This program will teach children how to become early mentors for other kids through baby sitting and being responsible at home. They shall also be engaged in extracurricular activities like games, homework club, fine arts, performance programs and other after school programs. Parents, caregivers and legal guardians must be onboard for their children to participate in these programs

Valuing of Yourself Program

Every human being is concerned about themselves because they understand the extent at which one can be either successful or fail in life due to their understanding of who they are. Issues of the self or the being have led many into unhealthy lifestyles.

This is where some children/youth begin to either be preoccupied with their body or neglect it (hygiene and self-care issues develop in the end). Youths in this program will touch base on other important areas like emotional well being in addressing anxiety and depression.

Given the number of youth who suffer from these two culprits these days, services for the youth will take into account the importance of teaching the youth the early signs of anxiety, depression as well as psychosis, so that necessary intervention can be used to mitigate the conditions.

Substance Use Services

This service will provide support, resources and the therapeutic support needed to rehabilitate, restore and recover individuals to live a life of full potentials. It is a partnership program that is ready to help whosoever is ready for help.

Youth in this program will learn all about substance misuse, their impacts on their self/body, their brain, academics, future career, childbearing, family life, etc. They will learn about all the different kinds, opiates, narcotics, depressants, stimulants, hallucinogens, and other not-well-known ones out there. They will study real case scenarios, analyze, synthesize and present to other groups.

Youth in Care & Foster Children Support Services

The service is a double-edged one. It provides support and care for youth in care or in foster parent homes as well as providing the necessary tools, skills and equip the parents and guardians to deal with the face to face issues of daily care provision.

For example, we provide help for both the youth and their guardian when the latter is admitted, travels, or unable to provide regular care and supervision of the young ones under their care.

Youth Leaders Mentoring/Coaching Program

In building a positive self esteem and image in any youth, it is important to engage them in activities of leadership training and development. With what they learn, which impact them positively, they will go on and teach others and help them out. There are many troubled youths, who would not want to listen to any adult figure at home or school, but will listen to their fellow youth or peers, and we intend to capitalize on this avenue to maximize support potentials for them.
